Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks an Auditor 1 for the Bureau of Audits, Liquor Control Board Operations Review to strengthen financial oversight across the state.

You will learn key audit skills through hands-on assignments, working on fieldwork, data analysis and teamwork. Current college students near graduation are encouraged to apply and gain valuable public service experience.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Financial Programs Trainee or four years of accounting/auditing experience.
• Fifteen college credits in accounting.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which includes fifteen college level credits in accounting and auditing.

Responsibilities

• Audit Preparation: Develop a working understanding of PLCB functions, auditing practices, and office procedures
• Interview Support: Travel to locations to meet with staff and gather information for audit assignments
• Data Analysis: Use computer software to compile, interpret, and analyze data for audit reviews
• Fieldwork Tasks: Test transactions, review records, and observe operations to check compliance with policies and regulations
• Documentation Work: Prepare organized audit records and written materials that support findings and recommendations
• Policy Adherence: Follow all required procedures, guidelines, and safety expectations while completing assignments
