Job summary

Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System (LASERS) in Baton Rouge seeks an internal auditor. The role may be filled at Auditor 1, 2, or 3 level with hands-on training for entry hires and lead engagements for experienced hires.

Qualifications

• Three years of accounting or auditing experience, or equivalent combos.
• Six years in any field plus 24 semester hours in related disciplines.
• Bachelor’s degree with 24 hours in related subjects, or related degrees.
• Professional certifications (CPA/CFE/CIA or CISA/CGAP) are acceptable.
• A combination of advanced degrees or CPA/CFE/CIA designation qualifies.

Responsibilities

• Performing risk assessments and planning engagements.
• Lead reviews including IT and investments as appropriate.
• Evaluate internal controls and use data analytics to spot trends.
• Prepare work papers and communicate results in reports.
• Manage time and resources to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
