The Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System (LASERS) Legal Division seeks a motivated Law Clerk to begin in January 2027 for the Spring 2027 semester and beyond. The role supports attorneys on legal, regulatory, and administrative matters for LASERS, a state agency serving about 100,000 members.

Qualified candidates are law students enrolled in an accredited program and able to work 15–20 hours weekly. The position emphasizes research, drafting, and collaboration with staff and officials.

• Communicate professionally with legislative personnel, courthouse staff, and judicial staff.
• Demonstrate an ability to learn and apply the laws governing public retirement systems, particularly those applicable to LASERS.
• Have a working knowledge of Louisiana community-property law.
• Be proficient with standard computer applications and legal-research tools.
• Possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive matters.
