The Audit Services Division of LASERS seeks an internal auditor in the Baton Rouge area. The role may be filled at Auditor 1, 2, or 3 level, based on qualifications. Entry‑level hires receive training; experienced hires will plan and lead engagements.

We seek a motivated, professional, quick learner with strong written and oral communication. The candidate should be detail oriented and pursue relevant professional certifications. LASERS offers excellent benefits and a competitive starting salary.

Formación

• Three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
• Six years of full-time experience in any field plus 24 semester hours in one or more related fields; OR
• Bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours in related fields; OR
• Bachelor’s degree in related fields; OR
• Bachelor’s degree plus CISA/CGAP designation; OR
• Advanced degree in related fields; OR
• CPA/CFE/CIA designation.

Responsabilidades

• Performing risk assessments.
• Planning, leading, and executing reviews conducted by the LASERS Audit Services Division (which may include IT and Investments).
• Reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Using data analytics tools to test data, find exceptions, and spot trends.
• Preparing work papers to document work performed and support conclusions.
• Preparing reports to communicate results of reviews.
• Managing time and resources to meet deadlines for multiple projects.

Experience substitution policy (30 sem hrs per year)
