Job summary

Gelman LLP is seeking an Audit Supervisor in Irvine, CA to independently manage audit engagements for Staff and Senior Accountants, ensuring timely, high-quality completion. The role involves planning, supervision, and detailed review to minimize partner/client coordination time.

You will train staff, perform risk assessment, and ensure compliance with AICPA standards and firm procedures while delivering accurate financial statements and insights to managers and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan engagement planning and administration: scheduling, client planning meetings, prior-year file review, budgets, and PBC lists.
• Use audit experience to perform risk assessment and develop the audit approach.
• Perform audits of ESOPs and employee benefit plans, completing fieldwork on time and within budget.
• Perform detailed review and quality control of audit workpapers and reports.
• Prepare financial statements with supporting details and complete disclosure checklists.
• Oversee engagement wrap-up so all significant matters are resolved and documented.
• Understand and apply AICPA rules, independence requirements, and the Code of Professional Conduct.
• Perform all work according to the firm’s methods, policies, and procedures.
