Brickley DeLong P.C. in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Senior Audit Accountant to join our Audit & Assurance team. This full‑time role offers exposure to diverse industries and the opportunity to grow technical accounting and auditing skills in a collaborative, people‑first culture.

You will work with experienced professionals, plan and perform engagements, and help deliver high‑quality client service in a fast‑paced public accounting environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
CPA licensure or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
3–5 years of public accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Heavy involvement in audit and attestation engagements.
Assist with planning and performing audit, review, and compilation engagements.
Work with clients to gather information and provide support throughout engagements.

About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a full-time position within our Audit & Assurance department. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals while gaining hands‑on exposure to a variety of industries and engagement types including business, construction, governmental, school districts, nonprofit, and employee benefit plan clients.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building client relationships, working collaboratively with a team, and continuing to grow their technical accounting and auditing knowledge in a fast‑paced public accounting environment.

Status: Full-Time

FLSA: Exempt

Basic Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To)

Heavy involvement in audit and attestation engagements
Assist with planning and performing audit, review, and compilation engagements
Participate in special projects and client engagements as assigned
Work directly with clients to gather information and provide support throughout engagements
Prepare and organize workpapers and supporting documentation
Collaborate with team members across multiple engagement types and industries

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
CPA license or progress toward CPA certification preferred

Desired Experience

3–5 years of public accounting experience preferred
Microsoft Excel experience preferred

Desired Skills

Experience planning and performing audit, review, and compilation engagements preferred
Exposure to business, construction, governmental (including schools), nonprofit, and employee benefit plan clients preferred
Ability to respond innovatively and constructively to client needs
Ability to recognize networking and practice development opportunities
