Job summary

Withum in Columbia, MD is launching the November 2026 Audit Class for accounting majors graduating soon. You will gain hands-on experience in financial statement audits, internal control evaluations, and client engagements across diverse industries under supervision of a Manager or Partner.

Ideal candidates have a accounting degree with GPA 3.0+, internship experience in public accounting, strong communication skills, and Excel proficiency. Preferred: 150 credit hours.

Qualifications

• Accounting major graduating in the upcoming academic year.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting with GPA 3.0+.
• Prior internship with a public accounting firm.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking.
• Team-oriented with a desire to learn and grow.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with audit software is a plus.
• Ability to work in one of our office locations (Columbia, MD).
• Preferred: 150 credit hours.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements.
• Evaluate internal control systems, audit risk, materiality, and GAAS compliance.
• Prepare detailed workpapers to support audit procedures.
• Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures on financial data.
• Contribute to larger audit engagements and take ownership of smaller ones as skills grow.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and clarify audit issues.
• Use audit software and data analytics tools to enhance audit quality and efficiency.
• Take on miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

The compensation for this position ranges from $65,000 to $85,000 based on location. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance.
