Job summary

VeeRteq Solutions Inc. in Deerfield, IL seeks an Audit Senior for a nonprofit CPA firm to lead multiple engagements, supervise staff, and build client relationships.

Responsibilities include managing engagement timelines and budgets, researching complex accounting issues, and ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate financial statements; hybrid work with some travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of audit experience in a public accounting environment.
• Direct nonprofit audit experience required.
• Strong nonprofit accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• GAAP, audit procedures, internal controls and financial statement prep.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and priorities.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA track preferred.

• Build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor.
• Develop engagement timelines, budgets, and project plans.
• Research and resolve technical audit and accounting issues.
• Review and prepare financial statements and related disclosures.

• Assist with business development and client growth initiatives.
• Supervise, train, and mentor junior audit staff.
• Maintain high-quality standards and meet deadlines.

Salary: $ 75,000.00 | Full - Time | Deerfield, IL

We have partnered with a large nonprofit CPA firm in Deerfield, IL to provide them with an Audit Senior.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Audit Senior:

#1. Minimum 3+ years of audit experience within a public accounting environment

#2. Direct nonprofit audit experience required

#3. Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting and financial reporting requirements

#4. Experience with GAAP, audit procedures, internal controls, and financial statement preparation

#5. Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing priorities simultaneously

#6. Bachelors Degree in Accouting or FInance

#7. CPA certification or very close to a CPA

Responsibilities of the Audit Senior:

• Manage and execute multiple audit engagements simultaneously

Requirements of the Audit Senior:

• CPA certification or active CPA track preferred
• Experience with Form 990 preparation and review
• Single audit experience preferred
• ERISA audit experience considered a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
• Experience with QuickBooks and audit engagement software platforms
