Job summary

Jobot, based in the LA area, is seeking an Audit Senior Manager focused on State and Local Government audits. The role requires 7–10 years in public accounting with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity, CPA, and GAAP/GASB expertise. Hybrid work and strong growth prospects with an accelerated partner track are offered.

• Approximately 7 to 10 years of experience in public accounting, with a minimum of 2 years in a manager position.
• Significant experience auditing state and local governments (cities, counties, special districts, charter schools).
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Holds a current and valid CPA license.
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations.
• Knowledge of GAAP and GASB standards.
• Experience with GAGAS/Yellow Book, GAAS and the Uniform Guidance.
• Ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm.
• Ability to direct, review and train staff.
• Exposure to audits of not-for-profit organizations.

Qualifications

• Approximately 7 to 10 years of experience in public accounting and a minimum of 2 years in a manager position, with significant experience in the public sector, including auditing state and local governments (i.e., cities, counties, special districts, charter schools, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• Holds a current and valid CPA license.
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations.
• Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm
• Possesses thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States, (U.S. GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards
• Significant experience conducting audits in accordance with General Accepted Governmental Auditing Standards (GAGAS/Yellow Book), Generally Accepted Audit Standards (GAAS) and the Uniform Guidance
• Maintains appropriate compliance with all Firm-wide policies and procedures.
• Ability to direct, review and train departmental staff.
• Exposure to conducting audits of not for profit organizations
