Job summary

Western Smokehouse Partners in Galesburg, IL seeks an experienced FSQA/Regulatory Compliance leader to oversee regulatory interactions, HACCP/SSOP management, and environmental monitoring to ensure product safety for meat snack lines.

The role focuses on USDA-FSIS regulations, audits, and continuous improvement across facilities, with strong cross-functional collaboration and on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, animal science or related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of FSQA or regulatory compliance in USDA meat/poultry RTE environment.
• Extensive knowledge of USDA-FSIS regulations (9 CFR, 21 CFR) and FDA guidance.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and document control tools.
• HACCP certification is required; SQF Practitioner or PCQI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory oversight: manage interactions with USDA FSIS personnel and internal teams.
• HACCP and SSOP management: validate and update HACCP plans and related programs.
• Listeria and pathogen control: maintain environmental monitoring programs for RTE environments.
• Regulatory monitoring: track changes to USDA, FDA, and international regs affecting products.
• Audit readiness: lead internal and external audits and prep for third-party inspections.
