Qualifications

Audit Partner – SEC Asia

Job Title: Audit Partner of SEC clients in Asia

Location: Houston, Texas (or Beijing, China or Shenzhen, China), United States | Full‑time | Partially remote

Reports to: Managing Partner

Job Summary: The Audit Partner is responsible for applying expert knowledge of accounting and auditing to determine the financial status of the firm’s client companies.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide relevant auditing and accounting knowledge to serve mostly Asian‑based companies that are listed on U.S. stock exchanges or going through U.S. IPOs and ensure audit teams deliver professional, timely, relevant audit details in a clear and concise format and in conformance with standard auditing procedures.
  • Retain clients by ensuring audit team performance meets client and standard auditing standards.
  • Continuously review audit team performance and resolve discrepancies.
  • Train and mentor audit staff.
  • Participate in training and professional development programs, business development and professional recruiting.
  • Prepare reports and presentations as required.
  • Participate in strategic planning.
  • Engage in a teamwork approach, showing flexibility in assignment of clients and firm administrative functions to achieve firm goals.
  • Lead the firm’s marketing and business development efforts to attract new clients through attendance at seminars or conferences or other related meetings with referral sources and clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

  • 10 years of recent work experience in accounting with increasing responsibility, preferably as an auditor at a Big Four or national/regional public accounting firm (Audit Partner or Senior Manager).
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin; Japanese is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • SEC audit experience and experience serving Asian‑based companies – a must.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with strong communication and client and project management skills.
  • Marketing and business development skills are encouraged.
  • Knowledge of FASB regulations, GAAP and GAAS.
  • Advanced working knowledge of technical literature.
Education & Licenses
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Advanced degree highly desirable.
  • Active CPA certification required.

Hours Required: 40 hours or more per week.

FLSA Status: Exempt.
