Next Level Resources, Inc. is seeking an Audit Manager in Carlsbad to lead engagement strategy, supervise audit teams, and deliver exceptional client service across multiple engagements.

This leadership role offers visibility and the chance to shape growth for a rapidly expanding CPA firm. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of public accounting experience, CPA progression, and strong GAAP/GAAS expertise, with proven client relationship and business development capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • CPA status or progress toward CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience.
  • Strong GAAP/GAAS expertise.
  • Proven leadership and team development experience.
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement strategy and oversee multiple audit engagements and teams.
  • Review and approve financial statements, audit reports, and key deliverables.
  • Drive engagement planning, risk assessment, and audit strategy.
  • Serve as primary relationship manager for key clients and provide technical guidance on complex issues.
  • Monitor engagement budgets, timelines, and profitability.
  • Mentor and evaluate audit staff, seniors, and supervisors.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on growth initiatives and process improvements.
  • Contribute to business development and client retention efforts.

Responsibilities:

As an Audit Manager, you will lead engagement strategy, oversee teams, and ensure exceptional client service:

  • Oversee and manage multiple audit engagements and teams simultaneously
  • Review and approve financial statements, audit reports, and key deliverables
  • Drive engagement planning, risk assessment, and audit strategy
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for key clients
  • Provide technical guidance on complex accounting and auditing issues
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and firm standards
  • Monitor engagement budgets, timelines, and profitability
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate audit staff, seniors, and supervisors
  • Partner with firm leadership on growth initiatives and process improvements
  • Participate in business development and client retention efforts
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA or advancement towards status
  • 5+ years of progressive Public Accounting experience
  • Strong technical expertise in GAAP and GAAS
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development experience
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
