Job summary

DOZ is seeking an accounting-focused intern for a full-time in-office internship in Carmel, Indiana. You will participate in all audit phases, work on over 35 audits, and collaborate with an audit team to deliver quality financial statements and draft reports.

Eligible candidates are accounting majors pursuing CPA eligibility, with a GPA of 3.0+ and prior accounting coursework. Expect 55+ hour weeks during peak season and opportunities for advancement based on performance.

Qualifications

  • Accounting major working toward CPA exam eligibility.
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0+ (or 30+ overall) preferred.
  • Completion of at least one intermediate accounting course preferred.
  • Ability to commit to 55+ hours per week during internship.

Responsibilities

  • Complete onboarding and training before client engagements.
  • Participate in all audit phases including planning and fieldwork.
  • Collaborate with an Audit team to complete 35+ audits.
  • Prepare draft audit reports for senior review and feedback.
  • Manage multiple client engagements concurrently in affordable housing/community development sector.
  • Regularly meet with in-charge to review progress and develop skills.

What to Expect

This is a full time in office internship running from January through mid March Interns work an average of 55 hours per week with peak weeks reaching up to 65 hours during the height of busy season We share that upfront so you can come in prepared and with a clear understanding of the experience

What Youll Do
  • Complete a structured onboarding and training program before working on client engagements
  • Participate in all phases of an audit including planning fieldwork and financial statement preparation
  • Collaborate with an Audit team to help complete more than 35 audits from start to finish
  • Prepare draft audit reports for review and feedback from senior team members
  • Manage work across multiple client engagements simultaneously building experience in the affordable housing and community development industry
  • Meet regularly with your in charge to review progress and continue developing your skills
What Were Looking For
  • Accounting major working toward the credit hour requirements needed to sit for the CPA exam
  • Cumulative GPA and major GPA of 30 or higher preferred
  • Completion of at least one intermediate accounting course before the internship begins preferred
  • Ability to take leave from spring semester classes and commit to 55 or more hours per week during the internship
  • Reliable transportation to and from the office
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship
  • Entrepreneurial hardworking and adaptable with strong critical thinking skills and a willingness to take on new and challenging assignments
What Youll Get

Compensation This position pays 2900 to 4800 per hour Actual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications experience and where applicable other job related factors permitted by law This position is not eligible for bonuses commissions or employee benefits except as required by applicable law This pay range reflects a good faith estimate of the compensation for this position in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws
