Job summary

Nichols Cauley is seeking a Spring 2028 Audit Intern for the Middle Georgia region. The internship offers hands-on experience in planning and performing audits with real client engagements and mentorship from experienced professionals.

You will assist with audit and related engagements, perform testing, prepare workpapers, and participate in team meetings and client interactions. This role is hybrid, with opportunities across multiple offices in GA.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, with graduation expected date range.
• Working toward CPA exam eligibility.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort learning new technology.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and between offices within the cluster.

Responsibilities

• Assist with audit, review, and compilation engagements for privately held businesses, financial institutions, governmental entities, and other organizations
• Perform testing on account balances and transactions, and document your work in audit software
• Prepare workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Help gather and organize client information, both on-site and remotely
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and client interactions
