Job summary

Fort Worth ISD is seeking an Audit Intern in Internal Audit (Pool) for a part-time, hourly role. The intern will assist in and conduct audits to ensure units operate in compliance with policies and procedures, reporting findings to correct deficiencies and reduce costs.

Interns work up to 14.5 hours per week. The internship reports to the Chief Internal Auditor and covers planning, performing audit steps, documenting work papers, communicating results, and following up on recommendations within

Qualifications

• Education: 60 hours toward a Bachelor's in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Experience: None required; prior experience with IDEA or ACL preferred.
• Languages: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred in some settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning objectives, scope, and methodology of engagements and prepare audit programs.
• Perform audit steps and draft reports per professional standards.
• Document audit methods, tests, and conclusions; prepare work papers.
• Communicate results to operating personnel and verify facts; assist with corrective actions.
