Job summary

Pulakos CPAs in Albuquerque, NM seeks an Audit Intern to support the Audit team with internal audit projects, risk assessment, compliance testing, and financial controls.

The ideal student is pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; 15–20 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Estimated weekly hours are 15 to 20.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and executing internal audit projects.
• Perform audit testing and document results in accordance with established procedures.
• Review financial records, transactions, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in identifying process inefficiencies and control weaknesses.
• Analyze data and prepare reports, summaries, and audit workpapers.
• Support risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Participate in meetings with business stakeholders and audit team members.
• Help track audit findings and follow‑up actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information.
