Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions seeks an Audit Director with a strong State and Local Government specialization. The role offers a hybrid work environment with relocation assistance to support the transition. You will lead engagements, mentor staff, and drive business development for a growing CPA firm.

Responsibilities include managing client relationships, signing attestations, and ensuring quality across GAAS, GAGAS/Yellow Book, and Uniform Guidance audits while promoting a path to partnership.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting and a minimum of 2 years in a senior manager position, with significant experience in the public sector, including auditing state and local governments (cities, counties, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Holds a current and valid CPA license
• Ability to travel to client and firm office locations
• Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm
• Significant experience conducting audits under GAGAS/Yellow Book, GAAS, and the Uniform Guidance

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients throughout the year and understands client operations and controls
• Reports to or serves as engagement partner on engagements per firm policy
• Signs attest opinions when acting as engagement partner
• Oversees all phases of engagements with partner oversight
• Identifies issues and proposes solutions with partner input
• Ensures engagements are properly scheduled and managed
• Acts as a subject matter expert in governmental sector audits
• Monitors billing and collection practices
• Supervises staff and provides training
• Participates in staff performance reviews and recruitment
• Supports business development and client relationship growth
• Leads prospective client meetings, fee estimates, and introductions
• Ensures compliance with firm-wide policies
