Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive public accounting audit and assurance experience.
  • Significant experience leading complex audit and assurance engagements.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience serving high-net-worth clients, family offices, trusts or estates is highly preferred.
  • Leadership at Senior Manager, Director, MD, or Partner level.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex engagements and client relationships.
  • Strong leadership, communication and business development skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee complex audit and assurance engagements for clients with sophisticated ownership, fiduciary, trust, estate, and private wealth structures.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, executives, fiduciaries, family offices, attorneys, and other professionals.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure delivery of high-quality services.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and strengthen client relationships.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex audit, accounting, and financial reporting matters.
  • Review engagements and financial statements for compliance with standards.
  • Oversee planning, risk assessment, and audit execution.
  • Maintain knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and reporting requirements.
  • Support growth of the Audit & Assurance practice and mentor teams.
  • Lead, mentor and develop Audit Managers and Senior Managers.

A well-established and growing public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Audit Director or Partner to provide leadership within its Audit & Assurance practice, with a focus on serving organizations and clients with complex trust, estate, fiduciary, and private wealth structures.

This opportunity is ideal for a senior-level public accounting audit professional with extensive experience leading complex assurance engagements and serving sophisticated clients. The successful candidate will bring strong technical audit expertise, leadership capabilities, client relationship management skills, and the ability to contribute to the continued growth of the firm's assurance practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee complex audit and assurance engagements for clients with sophisticated ownership, fiduciary, trust, estate, and private wealth structures.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, executives, fiduciaries, family offices, attorneys, and other professional advisors.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure the delivery of high-quality audit and assurance services.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and strengthen relationships across the firm's client base.
Technical Audit Leadership
  • Provide technical leadership on complex audit, accounting, and financial reporting matters.
  • Review audit engagements and financial statements to ensure compliance with applicable professional standards.
  • Oversee engagement planning, risk assessment, internal control evaluation, and audit execution.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and applicable regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a technical resource for audit teams and clients on complex assurance matters.
Business Development & Growth
  • Support the continued growth of the firm's Audit & Assurance practice.
  • Build relationships with referral sources, attorneys, wealth advisors, family offices, and other professional service providers.
  • Participate in networking, proposal development, presentations, and business development initiatives.
  • Identify new opportunities within the private client, family office, trust, and estate markets.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Audit Managers, Senior Managers, and other assurance professionals.
  • Provide coaching and technical guidance to engagement teams.
  • Participate in recruiting, training, and retention initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing audit culture.
Qualifications
  • Active CPA license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive public accounting audit and assurance experience.
  • Significant experience leading complex audit and assurance engagements.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience serving high-net-worth clients, family offices, closely held businesses, trusts, estates, or other complex private client structures is highly preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience at the Senior Manager, Director, Managing Director, or Partner level.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage significant client relationships and multiple complex engagements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and business development skills.
  • An existing book of business is preferred but not required.
