Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced audit leader in Ohio to head engagement teams across audits, reviews, and compilations, guiding fieldwork, testing, and documentation.

You will identify risk areas, develop audit approaches, and present conclusions to Partners while mentoring staff and managing client relationships. The role emphasizes budget development, proposals, and proactive industry awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA eligibility or 150 credit hours required.
• Minimum 6 years in public accounting with at least 2 years in supervision.
• Proven experience leading teams across engagements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and PM abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office; Caseware/Caseview a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

• Train and mentor team members to ensure high-quality work, streamline processes, and foster professional growth.
• Cultivate positive relationships with clients through proactive communication and engagement with client personnel.
• Coordinate and communicate with Partners regarding work status and client issues.
• Evaluate staff performance and deliver constructive feedback as needed.
• Develop budgets and pricing strategies for audit engagements.
• Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and networking events.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in auditing practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA or obtain 150 credit hours for CPA eligibility
• Minimum of 6 years with a public accounting firm required, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
• Proficiency in managing teams across various engagements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on client responsiveness
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities
• Ability to excel both independently and collaboratively
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
