Job summary

EY in Chicago seeks an Audit Advisor, Assurance (Manager) to lead audit engagements for private and public companies. You will plan, supervise and perform audits following US GAAS/GAAP, applying data analytics to deliver value beyond regulatory requirements. Travel up to 30% is required, and a CPA or equivalent certification is necessary.

The role offers a full-time schedule (40 hours weekly) in a hybrid environment with a competitive compensation package and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field with 5 years of progressive accounting/audit work experience, or Master’s with 4 years.
• 2 years supervising audits of internal controls over financial reporting per US GAAS/GAAP.
• 2 years supervising audits of financial statements per US GAAS/GAAP.
• 2 years supervising audit teams of two or more staff.
• 2 years of audit experience including SOX (ICFR) with a PCAOB‑registered firm.
• 2 years supervising audits of management review controls and testing information produced by the entity.
• 1 year of experience using audit documentation software.
• Active US CPA certification; or equivalent foreign certificate per state requirements.
• Domestic travel up to 30% to serve client needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform audit procedures in accordance with US GAAS and PCAOB rules.
• Provide audit services and offer business insights beyond regulatory basics.
• Apply data analytics to deliver high quality audits and insights for clients.
• Identify audit risks, obtain evidence and assess financial condition.
• Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technical developments.
