Starkey Hearing Technologies in Metairie, LA is seeking an Audiology Extern to complete university and ASHA requirements while gaining hands-on experience in testing, fitting and selling hearing products.

You will work with a Preceptor, conduct diagnostics, fittings, pediatric services, and participate in TeleHear remotely when allowed by law, accumulating SOAP notes and patient follow-up.

This externship prepares for licensure, with travel and training expenses covered by AAH.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in accredited Audiology graduate program.
• Eligible for Externship year per university requirements.
• Must obtain Audiology dispensing temporary licensure if required by state law.

Responsabilités

• Perform audiological assessments and fittings per clinic protocol.
• Explain testing and fittings to patients and families.
• Document SOAP notes after visits.
• Assist with sales of hearing products and accessories.
• Collaborate with Preceptor and TeleHear staff as needed.
