Job summary

The University of California - San Francisco is seeking an Audiology Assistant to join the Ambulatory Audiology team. Under supervision, you will assist with hearing aid troubleshooting, pediatric testing support, and equipment maintenance, while handling charting and referral management as part of the patient care team.

You will receive full training and be registered with the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board as an audiologic aide.

Qualifications

• Must register with the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board as an audiologic aide.
• Ability to perform hearing aid troubleshooting and basic testing assistance for adults and children.
• Strong clerical skills, including charting, referrals, and supply management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork within a patient care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and staff with hearing aid troubleshooting.
• Serve as primary adult and pediatric test assistant by assisting with conditioning and observation during testing.
• Triages hearing aid issues and maintains laboratory supplies and fitting rooms.
• Instruct patients on insertion/removal and care of hearing aids; prepare related paperwork.
• Prepare programming equipment and materials for audiologist; assist with purchases and repairs paperwork.
• Maintain hearing aid stock, loaner bank, work queues and benefit checks.
