Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Six months of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience with children 6 months–18 years is a plus.
  • Strong organization and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist audiologists in two-person behavioral testing.
  • Provide newborn hearing screenings and maintain state database reporting.
  • Support hearing aid check-in, troubleshooting, verification, and delivery to families; manage ear mold returns.
  • Communicate with families and outside professionals in HIPAA-compliant manner.
  • Document in electronic medical records as needed.
  • Maintain loaner hearing aid stock and database.
  • Perform calibrations and listening checks; load software and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Keep clinic space clean and stocked across sites.

Job description

The Audiology Assistant I supports professional audiology staff with diagnostic audio logic evaluations, patient equipment, communication with families and outside professionals/organizations, and database management, while maintaining organization of clinic space, equipment, and supplies in all settings in which audiology services are offered. The Audiology Assistant I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP). This position will include fast paced days supporting clinics with multiple audiologists. Must be able to shift quickly between tasks.

  • Location/Dept: Anschutz Medical Campus and Health Pavilion
  • Job Details: 1.0 FTE; 40 hours/week - eligible for benefits
  • Shift:
    o Monday: 8-12:00; Out at 12:00
    o Tuesday: 7:30-5:00
    o Wednesday: 7:30-5:00
    o Thursday: 8:00-5:30
    o Friday: 8:00-5:30
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

  • 1. Assists audiologists in two-person behavioral testing.
  • 2. Provides newborn hearing screenings to inpatients and outpatients, as required. Maintains electronic database for state reporting purposes.
  • 3. Provides hearing aid check-in, troubleshooting, verification, and delivery support. Schedules return of ear molds, hearing aids, accessories, and supplies to families. Performs ear mold fittings on patients.
  • 4. Communicates with families and outside professionals/organizations, as requested, following HIPAA regulations.
  • 5. Documents in the electronic medical record, as necessary.
  • 6. Maintains the loaner hearing aid stock and manages database.
  • 7. Performs calibrations and listening checks on a regular basis; Loads software and troubleshoots hardware repairs on audiology equipment.
  • 8. Maintains organization and cleaning of the clinic while following infection control procedures; orders and stocks supplies across sites.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree
  • CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR.
  • EXPERIENCE
  • Required Experience:
  • Six months of relevant experience
  • Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with children from 6 months - 18 years
  • Experience with Audiology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Strong organization and troubleshooting skills
Salary Information

Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Hourly Range: $25.71 to $38.56
