Job Description

UTHealth Houston is Texas’ resource for healthcare education, innovation, scientific discovery, and excellence in patient care. We are seeking an Audiologist to provide audiologic services including prevention, diagnosis, consultation, and rehabilitation for patients with communication deficits caused by hearing impairments and related disorders.

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform audiologic evaluations for pediatric and adult patients, identifying types and degrees of hearing loss.
  • Coordinate clinical audiologic and research activities.
  • Follow up with patients and counsel families on self-care techniques or referrals.
  • Assist in developing and administering quality assurance programs.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and professional standards.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Provide auditory evaluations and patient education.
  • Assist in training clinic personnel, medical students, and residents in testing procedures.
  • Dispense hearing aids to patients if required.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in audiology; Au.D. preferred.
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship/Externship Year (CFY).
  • Certification of Clinical Competency (CCC) in Audiology, or Texas state license within two months of employment.
  • No prior experience required.
Physical Requirements

Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently.

This position may be security sensitive and requires residency in Texas.
