Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking an Audiologist to join our Pediatrics team on a PRN basis, with days varying from Monday to Friday. The role reports to the Audiology department and is based on-site in Northern Virginia.

The ideal candidate holds a Doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD) or equivalent, CCC-A certification, and Virginia audiology licensure. Pediatric experience is preferred. Inova emphasizes safety, quality of care and employee wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD) or Master’s in Audiology earned before Jan 1, 2008.
• Certification: CCC-A (Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology).
• License: Virginia Audiology License from the Virginia Department of Health Professions.

Responsibilities

• Performs full diagnostic hearing assessments using appropriate testing methods and equipment for the patient type, diagnosis, and referral reason.
• Formulates and implements a treatment plan addressing deficits and patient/family concerns.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, and care team members.
• Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in patient evaluation, treatment and documentation.
• Collaborates with patient and/or family to set treatment priorities and maximize participation.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Audiologist Job Responsibilities:

• Completes full diagnostic hearing assessments using the appropriate testing method and equipment for the patient type, diagnosis, and reason for referral.
• Formulates and/or implements a treatment plan to address deficits and patient/family areas of concern.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
• Demonstrates advanced communication skills necessary for effective problem-solving, and conflict resolution and facilitates group interactions to achieve desired outcomes as evidenced by team feedback and observation.
• Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in patient evaluation treatment and documentation.
• Collaborates with the patient and/or family whenever possible to set treatment priorities and select activities that maximize participation in the treatment process as evidenced by feedback and observation.
• Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum Education:Doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD) or prior to January 1, 2008 a Master’s in Audiology from an accredited institution
• Years of Experience: No experience required
• Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology (CCC-A)
• License: Virginia Audiology License from the Virginia Department of Health Professions, Board of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of audiologist experience, including pediatrics experience
