Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA is seeking an Audiologist to join our Pediatrics team on a PRN basis, with Monday–Friday days that vary. The role focuses on pediatric diagnostic testing and collaborative patient care.

You will complete full diagnostic hearing assessments and develop treatment plans while communicating effectively with patients, families and care teams. Requires AuD, CCC-A, and Virginia licensure; pediatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD) or Master’s in Audiology if before Jan 1, 2008
• CCC-A certification
• Virginia Audiology License from Virginia Department of Health Professions, Board of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology

Responsibilities

• Completes full diagnostic hearing assessments using appropriate testing methods and equipment
• Formulates and/or implements a treatment plan to address deficits and family concerns
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff and care team members
• Demonstrates advanced communication skills for problem-solving and conflict resolution
• Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in patient evaluation, treatment and documentation
• Collaborates with patient/family to set treatment priorities and maximize participation

Audiologist Job Responsibilities:

• Completes full diagnostic hearing assessments using the appropriate testing method and equipment for the patient type, diagnosis, and reason for referral.
• Formulates and/or implements a treatment plan to address deficits and patient/family areas of concern.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.
• Demonstrates advanced communication skills necessary for effective problem-solving, and conflict resolution and facilitates group interactions to achieve desired outcomes as evidenced by team feedback and observation.
• Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in patient evaluation treatment and documentation.
• Collaborates with the patient and/or family whenever possible to set treatment priorities and select activities that maximize participation in the treatment process as evidenced by feedback and observation.
• Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum Education: Doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD) or prior to January 1, 2008 a Master's in Audiology from an accredited institution
• Years of Experience: No experience required
• Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology (CCC-A)
• License: Virginia Audiology License from the Virginia Department of Health Professions, Board of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of audiologist experience, including pediatrics experience
