Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs invites applications for an Audiologist in the El Paso VA Health Care System Audiology Department. The role includes clinical duties across the medical center, with emphasis on hearing, balance, and amplification care for Veterans.

The position requires Audiology doctoral credentials, licensure, and experience with contemporary audiology practice. The schedule is Monday–Friday; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Must hold Doctor of Audiology or doctoral degree in hearing science or related field.
• Licensure: full, current, unrestricted license to practice audiology in a U.S. state/territory/DC.
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required; non-citizens only per VA policy.
• License/credentialing requirements may be waived only in exceptional circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, diagnose, manage, and treat disorders of hearing, balance, tinnitus, and related audiology conditions.
• Conduct behavioral, electroacoustic, or electrophysiologic tests to evaluate audiology disorders.
• Provide rehabilitation, selection, fitting, and programming of hearing aids and amplification devices; verify effectiveness.
• Counsel patients and families; support vestibular rehab and balance retraining when needed.
• Consult with health-care professionals and industry on audiology devices and accessibility.

Education

Doctor of Audiology (AUD) or doctoral degree in hearing science/related field

Full-current unrestricted license to practice audiology in a U.S. state/territory/DC
