Job summary

UNC Health Medical Group in Goldsboro, NC, is seeking an Audiologist to deliver evidence-based evaluation, treatment, and education for hearing-impaired patients. The clinician provides student shadowing, clinical instruction, and participates in departmental and community continuing education and outreach.

Responsibilities include diagnostic testing, hearing aid evaluation and fitting, cochlear and balance assessments, and supervising learners.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Audiology program.
• Licensed as an Audiologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• BLS within 3 months of hire date.
• Audiologist experience preferred.
• Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maximize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Completes Audiology documentation, billing, and statistics per department guidelines.
• Manages daily caseload with efficiency and efficacy.
• Meets productivity standards per team guidelines.
• Provides services across multiple clinical locations as assigned.
• Performs diagnostic testing to assess auditory, vestibular, and related conditions.
• Counsels patients and families regarding hearing loss and rehabilitation options.
• Provides amplification services including hearing aid evaluation, fitting, verification, and follow-up care.
• Administers cochlear implant, middle ear implant, and ABI evaluations, programming, and management.
• Provides precepting and teaching for students and externs.
• Assists in planning and coordinating clinical programs and participates in departmental meetings and in-services.
