Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking an Audiologist in Spokane, WA, to administer screening and diagnostic hearing and speech examinations in a clinic. The role requires an active Washington state license and a master’s or doctoral degree in audiology with practicum experience.

The incumbent will perform audiometric evaluations, fitting of prosthetic devices, speech testing, and education for patients and families, with opportunities for ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Active Washington state license.
  • Master’s or doctorate degree in audiology with clinic practicum.
  • Masters degree requires Certificate of Clinic Competency in Audiology (CCC-A).
  • AuD from a board-approved program is acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Performs audiometric evaluations including pure tone air and bone audiometry.
  • Dispenses prosthetic devices for hearing loss and tunes hearing aids.
  • Performs speech testing and OSHA screenings.
  • Educates and counsels patients and caregivers.
  • Performs site-of-lesion testing (ABSs and ENGs).
  • Identifies, assesses and interprets test results related to hearing disorders.
  • Prepares written reports and referrals.

This is a professional level position that provides services in a clinic setting to a diverse linguistic, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic group. The Audiologist serves a large population of patients. Work situations require clinical skills, data analysis, problem solving, and decision making. Internal contacts may include patient care staff. External contacts include physicians, patients and families.Responsibilities• Performs audiometric evaluations including pure tone air and bone audiometry in order to evaluate hearing, make ear impressions, fit hearing protections or prosthetic devises, and monitor the continuous use of hearing aides• Provides hearing care by selecting, evaluating, fitting, facilitating adjustment to, and dispensing prosthetic devices for hearing loss• Performs speech testing and conducts OSHA screenings• Provides education and counseling to patient and/or caregivers on the various screenings• Performs specialty diagnostic site-of-lesion testing, ie, ABSs and ENGs• Identifies, assesses, diagnoses, manages, and interprets test results to disorders of human hearing• Prepares written reports of findings and correspondence to referral sources and other professionals involved in the hearing health of the patientRequirements• Active Washington state license• Active bond or security in lieu of bond in the amount of $10,000• Successful completion of a master’s or doctorate degree program that includes clinic practicum experience• Masters degrees require Certificate of Clinic Competency in Audiology• AuD at a board approved institution are considered to have met professional work experience requirement.**About Deaconess Hospital** Founded in 1896, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving the greater Spokane region. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $114,600.00 - $129,000.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
