Position Title
Audiologist, Medical Pavilion
Position Summary / Career Interest:
Responsible for testing, evaluating, and prescribing treatment for hearing disorders. Provides a full range of diagnostic, consultative, and rehabilitative audiology services to patients and families.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Obtain case history and administer diagnostic tests to determine the nature, degree, and type of hearing problem.
  • Consult with patients on hearing loss and communicative problems. Develop individualized treatment programs. Conduct follow-up to assess patient progress. Modify therapy as needed.
  • Interpret results and prepare reports for medical records. Consult with other medical professionals.
  • Plan and direct treatment programs. Collaborate with other therapists.
  • Instruct patients and their families in rehabilitative procedures.
  • Develop new audiology programs and services.
  • Perform hearing aid evaluations, dispense hearing aids, and conduct checks and repairs. Sell batteries for hearing aids.
  • Make referrals for further diagnostic evaluation and therapy or treatment.
  • Conduct rehabilitation therapy, including auditory training.
  • Train interns, students, and technical staff in testing and rehabilitative procedures.
  • Maintain audiology equipment, assist in selecting equipment, and order hearing aids and supplies.

Required Education and Experience
  • Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university.
