Job summary

Staffing Proxy is seeking a patient-focused Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist to join a well-established Albuquerque audiology practice. Licensure in New Mexico or the ability to obtain it is required; Au.D. or Master’s in Audiology; experience with REM and audiology best practices is valued.

Job description

A well‑established, independent audiology practice is seeking a patient‑focused Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) to join its collaborative team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Known for following audiology Best Practices and delivering exceptional patient care, the practice invests heavily in both provider development and patient education. Through its dedicated in‑house learning center, providers regularly host educational workshops on topics such as Hearing Aid 101, Bluetooth Basics, and Hearing in Background Noise. The team also emphasizes aural rehabilitation, Real Ear Measurements, and evidence‑based hearing healthcare.

Position Overview

Whether joining as an Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist, providers will play an important role in delivering personalized hearing healthcare through comprehensive evaluations, hearing aid services, patient counseling, and ongoing follow‑up care.

The practice primarily serves adult patients, with occasional pediatric patients. Experience with cochlear implants or vestibular testing is welcomed but not required, and responsibilities can be tailored to each provider's clinical strengths and interests.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive hearing evaluations and diagnostic testing for adult and occasional pediatric patients.
  • Recommend hearing solutions based on each patient's hearing loss, communication needs, and lifestyle.
  • Fit, program, verify, and troubleshoot hearing aids using Real Ear Measurements (REM) and Speech Mapping.
  • Provide hearing aid follow‑up care, including adjustments, maintenance, and patient support.
  • Deliver patient counseling and education on hearing loss, hearing technology, and communication strategies.
  • Provide aural rehabilitation services to support successful hearing aid use and long‑term outcomes.
  • Evaluate and manage patients with tinnitus.
  • Participate in or lead educational workshops in the practice's on‑site learning center.
  • Providers with experience may also perform cochlear implant services and/or vestibular evaluations.
Requirements
  • Au.D. or Master's degree in Audiology (Audiologists) or current New Mexico Hearing Instrument Specialist license, or the ability to obtain the appropriate New Mexico licensure.
  • Experience with hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, programming, verification, and follow‑up care.
