Installation Supervisor – Retail Entertainment / Cinema Theater Systems

Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Installation Supervisor to oversee the installation, commissioning, testing, and field support of advanced retail entertainment and cinema theater systems at new and existing locations.
This role requires a strong combination of audio-visual installation experience, networking knowledge, mechanical aptitude, construction-site experience, and troubleshooting ability. The successful candidate will work closely with theater operators, contractors, technical teams, and project stakeholders to ensure installations meet design specifications and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the installation of retail entertainment and cinema theater technology systems in new and existing venues.
- Oversee installation of:
- Video projectors
- Motion seating and mechanical assemblies
- Audio-visual equipment racks
- Theater technology and entertainment system components
- Verify that auditoriums and entertainment spaces meet required facility specifications according to client design drawings and technical requirements.
- Perform network connections and system integration between installed entertainment equipment and the client's existing cinema or venue systems.
- Configure, calibrate, and commission audio-visual and entertainment systems.
- Perform system testing, adjustments, and final quality checks before turnover.
- Conduct operator training for theater or venue personnel following system installation.
- Coordinate and obtain final client acceptance/buyoff.
- Provide on-site technical support during grand openings, system launches, and special events.
- Perform field service and maintenance support for installed cinema and entertainment systems.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical, mechanical, networking, and audio-visual system issues.
- Work closely with contractors, theater operators, project teams, and technical personnel to ensure projects are completed safely and according to specifications.
- Maintain professional communication with clients throughout installation, commissioning, and service activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical degree or certification in electronics, engineering, audio-visual technology, or a related technical field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of technical installation experience, preferably within the cinema, retail entertainment, audio-visual, entertainment technology, or related industry.
- Previous experience working on construction sites with a practical understanding of construction processes and practices.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of networked audio-visual systems.
- Experience with AV equipment installation, system integration, testing, and commissioning.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with mechanical equipment and assemblies.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, installation specifications, and client design drawings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and internal technical teams.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently while managing responsibilities in the field.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Must be comfortable working from scaffolding, ladders, and elevated lifts.
- Ability to work in active construction, cinema, and retail entertainment environments.
- Willing and able to travel up to 50% based on project requirements.
- Must be flexible regarding working hours, including evenings and weekends when required for installations, commissioning, troubleshooting, or venue openings.
