Job summary

First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio seeks an AV Technician to support worship and church events with sound, video, and presentation duties. You will operate the soundboard, manage live stream video, and prepare sermon slides using ProPresenter on a Mac, ensuring smooth technical execution.

Flexibility to work hourly on weekends and during special events is required. Prior experience with live production and video recording is preferred to support ongoing ministry and outreach efforts.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and some college or equivalent experience.
  • Six months of experience operating digital sound board.
  • Ability to multi-task and attention to detail are important skills for this position.
  • Knowledge of video cameras and ability to use in manual settings.
  • Comfortable with Mac and PC computers, ProPresenter and PowerPoint software.
  • Experience with live production, live-streaming situations/environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate soundboards and/or video projector system equipment for live-streamed worship services and other church-wide events, including funerals, wedding or special events requiring a sound and visual operator
  • Video record the sermons for each service

  • Handle weekly print production tasks

Job description

The A/V Technician will be expected to support the ministries of the Church in a spirit of teamwork and offer his or her time, skills, and gifts as they apply to the ongoing welfare, ministry, and edification of the Church.

Requirements
MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Operate Allen & Heath SQ7 Digital Sound Board, and assure system is turned on and sound levels monitored for each service.
  • Meet with worship leader(s) prior to services or special events for sound checks.
  • Deliver wireless microphones as needed and do battery checks.
  • Set up extra microphones as required.
  • Record services for broadcast and/or duplication as required.
  • Operate and maintain Panasonic PTZ video cameras for Live Stream.
  • Develop and display screen slides as needed to support sermons.
  • Operate built-in projector screen via Mac laptop,including videos and presentations as required.
  • Alert Media Coordinator to audio equipment needing servicing or repairs.
  • Alert Media Coordinator of absences to assure that alternative support can be scheduled.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Director of Communications & A/V Media Manager or Church Administrator.
  • Flexibility to work hourly on an as-needed basis, including weekends.
