POSITION: Audio Visual Technician
REPORTS TO: Director of Enterprise Infrastructure and Technology Partnerships

RANGE:$60,000 - $65,000

Brooklyn Law is seeking an experienced and dynamic Audio-Visual technician to operate the Law School’s vast Audio-Visual services. The Audio-Visual Technician is responsible for the day-to-day technical support of classroom AV needs and AV for special events throughout the law school. The Audio-Visual technician is also responsible for maintaining, installing, and upgrading AV equipment throughout the school. The Audio-Visual technician is also expected to perform editing of footage and various multimedia files as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide AV services to meet the needs of faculty and students
- Maintain AV classroom technology
- Assist faculty in use of classroom technology
- Provide classroom recording services as needed
- Provide support for lecture capture across campus
- Assist in the implementation of classroom technologies
- Assist in the automation of classroom management
- Troubleshoot and maintain AV systems on Conference/event spaces
- Assist in the coverage of AV requests for meetings
- Set up conference rooms for video and audio conferences as scheduled
- Assist in the coverage of internal/external events hosted in campus spaces
- Provide support and production services for events and performances across campus
- Provide postproduction editing of event videos
- Assist in the maintenance of event space AV systems
- Handle incidents and ensure they are resolved within agreed-upon service levels
- Create service and technical documentation as necessary
- Help foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the larger Office of Information Technology team
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams (network, applications, help desk) to resolve issues efficiently.
- Provide operational and supplemental resourcing for Desktop Support personnel, ensuring the efficient resolution of technical issues.
- Assist users with troubleshooting, software installations, system configurations, and account management.

Required:
- Associate's degree or equivalent in information technology, computer science, or a related field and/or 3 to 5 years’ experience working with audio-video systems
- Strong knowledge of help desk operations, ticketing systems, and end-user training methodologies.
- Programming and use of various Audio-Visual touch panel and streaming systems including, but not limited to, Crestron, Q-SYS, OBS, NDI, proprietary OEM Audio-Visual hardware
- Working knowledge of Zoom videoconferencing, Adobe editing software (Premiere or similar), Microsoft Teams videoconferencing, Panopto, OBS, Livestream technologies, YouTube/Vimeo or other video hosting platforms
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvements and handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to deal with interruptions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to create end user instructions
- Great working knowledge of Adobe Premiere or similar video editing software platforms
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft PowerPoint
Preferred:
- Experience in higher education or legal education environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA) are a plus.
Work environment
- The Brooklyn Law School campus is comprised of three separate buildings in close walking proximity. Travel between buildings is expected.
- Audio-Visual duties may include working outdoors as part of Audio-Visual duties. Indoors may include small and or enclosed spaces. Exposure to environmental conditions expected.
Remote capabilities
- This position is not eligible for hybrid initially. Possible hybrid schedule can be discussed.

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
