Job description

Rock The House delivers audiovisual and lighting systems for concert venues, hospitality spaces, and entertainment environments. Our roots are in live events and production, and we bring that performance mindset into every permanent installation we build.

The Installation Field Technician is a hands‑on role responsible for installing AV and lighting systems in commercial, hospitality, and entertainment spaces. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, understands job sites, and has a passion for concerts, lighting, and live production, or wants to grow in that direction.

<>This role works closely with the Senior Project Manager, Installations and the broader Rock The House production team to ensure systems are installed cleanly, safely, and with show‑ready quality.
What You'll Do:
  • Install low‑voltage AV and lighting systems in concert venues, clubs, hospitality spaces, and commercial environments
  • Pull, dress, label, and terminate low‑voltage cabling
  • Mount speakers, lighting fixtures, projectors, displays, racks, and infrastructure
  • Assist with rack builds, equipment installs, and final system cleanup
  • Support basic system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning
  • Maintain clean, organized, professional job sites
  • Follow safety procedures and construction site protocols
Technical Skills & Interests:
  • Experience with low‑voltage cabling and basic construction environments
  • Familiarity with AV systems including audio, video, lighting, and projection
  • Interest in or exposure to creative lighting design and entertainment technology
  • Comfortable with ladders, lifts, hand tools, and basic power tools
  • Ability to read basic drawings and follow install plans
  • Q‑SYS Level 1 preferred (or willingness to learn and obtain certification)
Who This Role Is For:
  • Someone who likes concert venues, clubs, theaters, and live events
  • A hands‑on installer who wants to grow into higher‑level AV, lighting, or control systems
  • A reliable, detail‑oriented team player who takes pride in clean installs
  • Someone eager to learn, improve, and build a long‑term career in entertainment technology
Compensation & Growth:
  • Hourly rate: $23–$26/hour (based on experience)
  • Overtime as required by project schedules
  • Paid training, certifications, and opportunities to learn lighting, control, and systems integration
  • Clear growth path to Lead Installer, Commissioning Tech, or Project Management support
Why Rock The House?

You'll work on projects that blur the line between installation and live production —bringing the same energy and attention to detail found on concert stages into permanent systems.
