Crunchy Tech is a commercial AV integrator headquartered in Orlando and working nationwide. We design, install, and support AV systems for sports bars, restaurants, hospitality and entertainment venues, and corporate and government spaces. We work design-build: we engineer the system, install it, commission it, and stand behind it after we leave. Our brands also include Padzilla interactive touchscreen displays and Unreal Bowling lane-projection systems.
About the Role
We're hiring an AV Installation Technician to take projects from rough-in to handoff. You'll be on job sites up to 50% of the time, often out of town, doing full installs in restaurants, bars, hospitality venues, and meeting rooms. Between projects you'll work out of our Orlando warehouse building racks, assembling systems, and prepping equipment so the next install goes in clean.
The schedule follows the project. Expect travel up to 50% of the time, with trips that can run up to two weeks, and occasional evenings or weekends when a venue's timeline calls for it.
What You'll Do
- Install complete AV systems: displays, video walls, projectors, speakers, amplifiers, DSPs, control systems, and networked AV
- Hang and mount TVs and displays of every size on drywall, masonry, wood, steel, and ceiling structures, so they're level, secure, and match the drawings
- [Install lighting and lighting control systems]
- Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cable (Cat6, fiber, speaker, control)
- Work from PDF and DWG plans, elevations, and callouts, and flag discrepancies before they turn into rework
- Run commissioning alongside our programmers and project managers: verify signal flow, test every source and display, confirm audio and control functions, and close out punch lists until the system is signed off
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues on site, and handle equipment returns for repair (RMA)
- Walk venue staff and end users through the finished system at handoff, at a level that fits their technical background
- Keep the site clean, protect the customer's space, and represent Crunchy Tech professionally with GCs, venue managers, and owners
- Document progress, photos, and as-builts in our project management system
In the warehouse:
- Build and dress racks to Crunchy Tech standards; pre-terminate, label, and bench-test before shipment
- Assemble, kit, and stage equipment by project
- Pack and ship equipment safely to job sites
- Receive and check in inventory, and keep tools and shop space organized
Other duties as assigned.
