FORTÉ in Madison, WI is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our audiovisual integration team. You will design and plan AV systems, translate customer needs into effective solutions, and collaborate with installation and service staff to ensure top-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes CAD documentation, system descriptions, equipment research, and integration of hardware and software to deliver seamless, reliable environments for education and corporate workplaces.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of design engineering experience preferred.
• Experience in the service and installation of audio, video and presentation systems.
• Knowledge of control systems (Crestron, QSC, Extron, AMX) and DSP platforms (Biamp, QSC, ClearOne, BSS).
• Ability to read engineering schematics and interpret design intent.

What You Will be doing:

• Provide technical expertise to support the architecture, installation and planning of audio, video and control solutions
• Completes documentation with a high degree of quality and follows Technical Services Standards. Services include CAD drawings (flows, plans, elevations, details), system descriptions, equipment research, selection, custom product design and system integration.
• Research and analyze the capabilities of available hardware and software options
• Design audiovisual systems of various hardware and software components that work together as one integrated system and that meet customer's specific needs
• Support projects and our team throughout the implementation process.

Requirements to Assure Success:

• 3+ years of Design Engineering experience is preferred.
• Prior experience in the service and installation of audio, video and presentation systems
• Knowledgeable of control systems (Crestron, QSC, Extron, AMX) and DSP platforms (Biamp, QSC, Clearone, BSS)
• Ability to prepare, understand, and interpret advanced single-line diagrams, architectural, construction, and electrical drawings
• Knowledge of project financial reports, and the ability to control costs in the design and management of projects is essential
• Ability to read engineering schematics and communicate design intent
• CTS and CTS-D certifications are a plus but not required with the right experience. Any other industry related certs or training are also a plus. (Ex: Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Shure etc.)
