Superior Communication Services is seeking an AV Technician in Framingham, MA for full-time on-site work. You will install, test, and commission commercial AV systems across displays, projectors, speakers, DSPs, and control systems, ensuring on-spec delivery and quality.

Read schematics, run cabling, and configure devices to meet project requirements. The role requires 3+ years of AV installation in commercial settings, strong wiring and mounting skills, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on AV installation experience in commercial environments.
• Strong knowledge of low-voltage wiring, AV rack builds, display and speaker mounting, camera installation, and signal flow.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and commission commercial audiovisual systems.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, AV schematics, signal flow diagrams, and scope docs.
• Pull, route, label, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (category, fiber, speaker, coax).
• Rack, stack, and dress AV equipment racks to industry best practices.
• Configure and troubleshoot AV hardware, software, and network-connected devices.
• Perform system testing, QC checks, and commissioning activities for end-user experience.
• Collaborate with Lead Technicians, Project Managers, and client stakeholders to stay on schedule.
• Identify installation challenges and communicate solutions proactively.

Position Summary

The AV Technician is responsible for executing permanent AV installations on time, on spec, and to the standard SCS clients expect.

What You’ll Own

• Install, terminate, test, and commission commercial audiovisual systems, including displays, projectors, projection screens, speakers, microphones, DSPs, cameras, control systems, LED video walls, digital signage, and conferencing platforms.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, AV schematics, signal flow diagrams, and scope documentation to ensure installations are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Pull, route, label, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling, including category cable, fiber optic, speaker wire, and coaxial cabling.
• Rack, stack, and dress AV equipment racks following industry best practices and SCS quality standards.
• Configure and troubleshoot AV hardware, software, and network-connected devices.
• Perform system testing, quality control checks, and commissioning activities to verify functionality and ensure a seamless end-user experience.
• Collaborate with Lead Technicians, Project Managers, and client stakeholders to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet scope requirements.
• Identify installation challenges and proactively communicate solutions before they impact project timelines.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on AV installation experience in commercial environments
• Strong working knowledge of low-voltage wiring, AV rack builds, display and speaker mounting, camera installation, and signal flow
• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Certifications

Not required, but they set you apart:

• OSHA 10
• CTS (Certified Technology Specialist)
• Crestron Certification
• DSP Certifications: QSYS, Biamp, Harman, or Shure
