Job summary

Qualifications

  • At least two years of professional experience providing AV, desktop, technical operations, or related onsite technology support.
  • Foundational knowledge of AV equipment including displays, audio systems, video playback devices, control interfaces, cabling, and signal connections.
  • Ability to perform routine system checks using established procedures and checklists.
  • Basic troubleshooting of power, audio, video, connectivity, cables, inputs/outputs, and peripheral equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to report onsite before the first scheduled tour.
  • Ability to work independently and stay attentive during operating hours.
  • Ability to follow procedures and escalate when needed.
  • Willingness to work assigned weekday or weekend schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary onsite AV support for the studio tour experience.
  • Perform daily pre-opening inspections and functional checks of all tour-related AV systems before the first 8:30 AM tour.
  • Verify operation of displays, monitors, audio systems, video playback devices, control interfaces, cabling, and supporting tech.
  • Complete end-of-day checks after the final tour to ensure readiness for the next business day.
  • Monitor AV performance throughout assigned hours.
  • Respond promptly to tour-related technology incidents and service interruptions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Level 1 AV issues; apply approved workarounds and escalate when needed.
  • Communicate system status, outages, and potential guest impacts to operations.
  • Document daily system checks, issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Create, update, and track support tickets using ServiceNow or similar.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and cable management.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, AV engineers, vendors, and facilities for additional support.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional technology environment.
  • Provide courteous, guest-conscious service in a high-visibility media environment.
  • Support additional AV assignments as directed by the manager.

Stand8 is seeking two dependable Audio Visual Support Technicians to provide dedicated onsite technology support for a high-profile studio tour experience in New York City. The technicians will complete daily pre-opening and end-of-day checks to ensure guest-facing audio visual systems are tested, operational, and ready for scheduled tours. This role responds to Level 1 AV incidents, applies approved workarounds, documents system status, and coordinates escalations when advanced support is required. This is a 12-month contract opportunity requiring consistent onsite coverage. Assigned schedules are Monday through Wednesday or Thursday through Sunday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary onsite AV support technician for the studio tour experience.
  • Perform daily pre-opening inspections and functional checks of all tour-related audio visual systems before the first scheduled 8:30 AM tour.
  • Verify the operation of displays, monitors, audio systems, video playback equipment, control interfaces, cabling, and other supporting technology.
  • Complete end-of-day checks following the final 5:00 PM tour to ensure equipment is operationally ready for the next business day.
  • Monitor the performance and condition of AV technology throughout assigned operating hours.
  • Respond promptly to tour-related technology incidents and service interruptions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Level 1 AV issues involving power, connectivity, audio, video, displays, control systems, and equipment configuration.
  • Apply approved workarounds when an issue cannot be immediately resolved and escalate more complex problems to the appropriate internal team, manager, or service provider.
  • Communicate system status, outages, workarounds, and potential guest impacts to tour operations personnel and management.
  • Follow established opening, closing, incident-response, and escalation procedures.
  • Document daily system checks, identified issues, troubleshooting steps, equipment failures, and completed resolutions.
  • Create, update, and track support tickets using ServiceNow or a comparable service-management platform when required.
  • Assist with basic preventive maintenance, equipment organization, cable management, and replacement of approved peripheral components.
  • Coordinate with internal technology teams, AV engineers, vendors, and facilities personnel when additional technical support is needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional technology environment throughout the tour spaces.
  • Provide courteous, professional, and guest-conscious service in a highly visible media and entertainment environment.
  • Support additional AV assignments and operational needs as directed by the manager.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Dependable attendance and the ability to consistently report onsite before the first scheduled tour.
  • Ability to work independently, remain attentive during operating hours, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to stay calm and work efficiently when resolving time-sensitive technology issues in a guest-facing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when documenting inspections, incidents, and resolutions.
  • Ability to follow technical, safety, security, and client-specific operating procedures.
  • Availability to work the assigned weekday or weekend schedule for the duration of the engagement.
Preferred (Optional):
  • Previous AV support experience in a media, broadcast, entertainment, hospitality, museum, attraction, live-event, or guest-experience environment.
  • Familiarity with commercial AV platforms or equipment from manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Cisco, Poly, or comparable providers.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or another IT service-management and ticketing platform.
  • Familiarity with digital signage, media playback systems, distributed audio, or guest-facing presentation technology.
  • Experience supporting technology in an environment with fixed opening times, scheduled programming, or daily operational-readiness requirements.

The base range for this contract position is $28 - $32 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
