Job Overview

Work in conjunction with AVDI projects to take complex AV systems from inception to completion and client acceptance, including conference rooms, classrooms, Rehearsal rooms as well as auditoriums and performance venues, sound and projections systems. Responsibility also includes client consulting and arranging for the appropriate support resources as needed if projects cannot be handled in house.

Essential Functions

  • Construct racks, pull cable, and prepare equipment for installation. Install completed racks, projectors, monitors and related mounts using institution approved installation methods and techniques.
  • Assist with final system testing, commissioning and client training.
  • Develop, improve and promote both point-of-service and on-line documentation.
  • Serve as the tier-2 escalation point for troubleshooting complex AV systems, AV technical support, and videoconferencing support in university spaces to identify root causes.
  • Provide timely and effective support to faculty, staff, and student customers using audio, video, or computer equipment.
  • Communicate orally and in writing with departments, other agency personnel, and vendors (e.g., to obtain and disseminate information, resolve discrepancies, respond to customer concerns, and maintain good working relationships in the course of assigned work, and to offer training to users on audio/video equipment, etc.).
  • Ensures all work complies with company policies, procedures, standards and conventions.
  • Ensures each system’s physical completeness is in accordance with installation drawings.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Minimum Requirements

Working knowledge of current industry practices of A/V for classrooms and performance venues.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Media, Electronic Technology, or related field
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting electronic classroom presentation equipment using smart control systems (i.e., AMX,RTI or Crestron), such as data projectors, document cameras, audio/video matrix routers.
  • Have working knowledge of Systems such as Clearcom, RTS, HME. (analog and digital)
  • Have working knowledge networked audio and video. (NDI protocols)
  • Have familiarity of best practice for Live stream events to help support student performances.
  • Must become Dante level 3 certified within first year.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Must have excellent customer service attitude and excellent communication skills.
