Qualifications

• 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years drafting and negotiating contracts for a publisher or relevant experience.
• Audiobook publishing background is strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal, communication, drafting and negotiating skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with organizational ability.
• Ability to work independently, set priorities under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative and team oriented.
• Innovative and adaptable mindset with curiosity about new tools and processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as contracts lead for backlist audio initiative.
• Prepare, drafts, negotiates, and finalizes contracts and amendments for audio, trade and children’s imprints.
• Review requests submitted by editors.
• Interface with Editorial, Royalty, Publishing Operations and Finance Departments.
• Interpret contract details to answer queries from internal stakeholders and third parties.
• Advise on author estate matters as required.
• Perform other tasks as needed and assigned.
