Job summary

Bonhams is seeking a Sales Coordinator to support the NY Chinese Works of Art department and assist with day-to-day auction operations. You will work closely with Specialists, manage client and consignor details, and handle contracts and payments throughout the sale cycle.

You will use the Auction Management System (A3) and other internal tools, coordinating with regional offices and service teams to ensure smooth execution. Strong Mandarin and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage workflow and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Flexible approach and willingness to support teams beyond core responsibilities.
• 1–2 years in an administrative position.
• Professional fluency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese.
• Academic background in Chinese Art is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support US-based NY Chinese Works of Art department sales, specialists, and clients.
• Use Bonhams’ Auction Management System (A3) and internal systems.
• Manage client and property records through sale cycles, including contracts and payments.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, restorers, shippers and suppliers.
• Coordinate movement of property with regional/global offices and Shipping/Operations.
