The Wilderness Resort is seeking hardworking, dependable, enthusiastic, customer service driven individuals to join our fast-paced team! Employees have access to great benefits, amenity usage, and so much more!

The Attractions Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the installation, inspection, and repair of various attractions and arcade equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable guest experience. This role involves maintaining operational standards, adhering to safety regulations, and assisting guests as needed. The technician supports a wide range of indoor and outdoor entertainment offerings, contributing to the smooth operation of all attractions and arcade areas.

This is a full-time position with day, night and weekend availability.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Open and inspect Take Flight attraction daily, ensuring operational readiness and guest safety.
  • Complete all required Take Flight checklists on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
  • Personally conduct or oversee equipment inspections as mandated by manufacturers, government agencies, and company policies, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and guests in a variety of contexts including training, coaching, customer service, purchasing, and team motivation.
  • Respond promptly and calmly in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Foster a positive work environment, supporting team morale and consistent performance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including timely reporting of violations or injuries.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment issues to meet or exceed targeted uptime metrics.
  • Refurbish attractions and games in accordance with manufacturer specifications and ensure all inspections and licensing deadlines are met in compliance with state regulations.
  • Perform installations and rehabilitations of arcade equipment to ensure optimal function and presentation.
  • Monitor and adjust arcade game payouts; ensure all meters and related systems are functional.
  • Maintain cleanliness of arcades, attractions, and surrounding areas, including quarterly deep cleaning of all arcade machines.
  • Delegate daily tasks and manage special projects effectively with staff.
  • Conduct and document daily inspections of all arcade games.
  • Ensure maintenance records, inspection forms, and preventative maintenance checklists are properly archived and communicated to the Attractions Maintenance Manager.
  • Complete daily, monthly, and semi-annual inspections for both indoor and outdoor go-karts.
  • Maintain and inspect the ropes course, including painting, installing new elements, and ensuring structural integrity.
  • Perform and document all required monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections for the ropes course and Clip ‘n Climb walls.
  • Oversee maintenance of Timberland attraction, including inventory management of replacement elements and supplies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair arcade game issues, including wiring, soldering, and resolving computer and mechanical problems.
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical support, parts, and resolution of escalated issues.
  • Relocate arcade machines as necessary to accommodate floor plan changes or maintenance needs.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections of all arcade equipment to ensure consistent operation and compliance.
  • Perform general maintenance of the Lost Cabin Laser Tag arena; ensuring all vests and equipment remain fully operational.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of laser tag parts and supplies.
  • Oversee maintenance of Wild Abyss Mini Golf, including pump systems, filters, tank cleanliness, wall condition, black light functionality, rock painting, and addressing any other facility-related issues.
  • Conduct monthly inspections and general maintenance of the Indoor Go-Kart track and vehicles; review and maintain maintenance binders for accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct monthly inspections and general maintenance of the Outdoor Go-Kart track and vehicles, including monthly oil changes; maintain and audit maintenance records.
  • Provide maintenance support for the Zip-Line and Take Flight attractions as needed or directed by Attractions Management.
  • Support the repair, preventative maintenance, and aesthetic upkeep of Aquavia Lumina, ensuring the attraction remains in top operational and visual condition.
  • Remain available via radio and/or cell phone during working hours to respond promptly to maintenance needs or emergencies.
  • Assist in departmental and resort-wide initiatives as assigned by the Attractions Manager.
  • Drive company vehicles as needed for job-related tasks; must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management to ensure the success of the attractions and overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand schematics and technical instructions.

  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus, food preparation and presentation.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, creative thinker.

  • Efficiently handle multiple duties.
  • Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, word processing, spreadsheets, voice mail, copier, fax, and calculator.
  • Requires a good understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of resort amenities, room designs, and general golf knowledge.
  • Ability to handle stressful, fast-paced and noisy situations.
  • Good attendance and punctual.
  • Exhibits professionalism.
  • Exhibits good grooming habits.
  • Wears the proper uniform.
  • Works efficiently.
  • Follows all resort and office policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner with a positive attitude.

  • Frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), and work near moving mechanical parts.
