Job summary

Metropolitan Public Defender Service Inc is seeking an Attorney Trainer Manager in Portland, OR to lead a comprehensive attorney training program and develop resources within the office. You will mentor attorneys and law students, coordinating with senior Chiefs to meet training needs and ensure high standards of client representation.

The role emphasizes in-person collaboration, leadership, and a commitment to professional staff development within MPD's public defender framework.

Qualifications

• Must be a current member of the Oregon State Bar in good standing.
• OPDS qualified to handle misdemeanor and felony cases.
• Ability to travel to and work within criminal justice system facilities and to testify in court without impeachment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate a robust training program for attorneys and staff.
• Mentor and train all team members, including Certified Law Students.
• Collaborate with management Chiefs to meet training needs; report to the Director of Attorney Recruitment & Training.
