Job summary

State of South Carolina's Office seeks a qualified attorney to perform professional legal work for the State, its subdivisions, and officials. Under limited supervision, you will research, prepare, and draft opinions in response to formal requests, review colleagues' opinions, and assist with special litigation projects as needed.

Eligibility includes a Juris Doctorate and at least five years' practicing attorney experience, membership in good standing with the SC Bar, and knowledge of South

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate Degree and at least five years of experience as a practicing attorney.
Active SC Bar membership in good standing and Rule 403 compliance.
Knowledge of South Carolina law and general statutory and common law.

Responsibilities

Conduct independent legal research on a wide variety of issues to prepare opinions.
Prepare and draft opinions in response to formal requests from public officials.
Review the work of other attorneys and assist in researching and drafting opinions.
Perform related duties as assigned by the Deputy Attorney General, Chief Deputy Attorney General, or Attorney General.
