The role focuses on fiduciary disputes, complex probate matters, and trust and estate controversies, with ownership of matters, direct client contact, and meaningful docket management.

This hybrid position offers in-office four days a week, a base salary starting at $140,000, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active Texas law license in good standing.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• At least 5 years of probate litigation experience.
• Strong command of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Rules of Evidence.
• Ability to independently manage a docket and run matters with supervision.
• Interest in business development and building referral relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage probate and trust litigation matters from intake through resolution.
• Develop and execute litigation strategy, including early case assessment and settlement positioning.
• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other filings.
• Handle written discovery and document strategy.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare for hearings, mediations, and trial preparation as needed.
• Communicate with clients regarding strategy, risk, and settlement options.
• Contribute to practice development through client relationship building and referrals.

A confidential U.S. law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Probate and Trust Litigation practice in Texas.

This role focuses on fiduciary litigation, complex probate disputes, and trust and estate controversies, frequently involving sophisticated fact patterns and significant financial stakes.

The position is well suited to an attorney who enjoys ownership of matters, direct client contact, and building a long-term practice within a partnership-track structure.

Base salary from $140,000
