Job summary

We Are Legal Revolution, a confidential, established regional law firm in Chicago, seeks a Partner-level attorney to expand its commercial litigation platform. This is a litigation-only role with a meaningful mix of defense and plaintiff-side matters, and a strong emphasis on business development and client relationship ownership.

You will lead and supervise general commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution, handle pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation,

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial litigation experience.
• Portable book of business of at least $400,000.
• Demonstrated business development and marketing capability.
• Ability to support matters with an average billing rate around $260/hour.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise general commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Handle pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Advise clients on case strategy, risk, budgeting, and settlement positioning.
• Develop new business through marketing, relationship building, and cross-selling within the firm.
• Maintain and grow a portable practice with an emphasis on client service and responsiveness.

REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of commercial litigation experience.
• Portable book of business of at least $400,000.
• Demonstrated business development and marketing capability (including attorneys coming from a solo or small-firm environment).
• Ability to support matters with an average billing rate around $260/hour (with flexibility to go higher depending on work and clients).
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school (Top 100 law school preferred by the firm).

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

• Trial experience in insurance defense litigation, ideally as first or second chair.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Billable hour target: 1,800 hours.
