Job summary

Progressive in the United States is seeking a claims adjuster specialist to manage attorney-represented bodily injury claims. You will assess liability, coverage and damages, and work with attorneys to negotiate settlements in a hybrid office environment.

You’ll join a collaborative team with regular coaching; reporting to an office about four days per month for meetings and training. Location options include Concord and other CA cities.

Qualifications

• Four years of relevant work experience with one year in claims handling.
• Associate's degree plus three years relevant experience with one year in claims handling.
• Bachelor's degree plus one year in claims handling.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Determines coverage and liability.
• Negotiate with claimants or their attorneys.
• Settle claims and set reserves.
• Estimates cost of treatment or compensation for those injured in accidents.
• Analyze and interpret medical reports, follow-up with no-fault parties, and manage claims process to ensure efficient resolution.
• Interview, collect and document information from various people such as claimants, agents/brokers, attorneys, and police.
