Job description

Division: Associate, Counsel, Law Student, and Virtual Office Division

Location: Remote or Hybrid (Candidates must reside in the Central or Mountain Time Zones). This role offers the flexibility to work fully remotely or in a hybrid arrangement, with the option to work from a Fisher Phillips office two to three days per week, if desired.

Overview: Fisher Phillips is a global labor and employment law firm. We are seeking an Attorney Recruiting Assistant to support our fast-paced recruiting team. This role contributes to the hiring efforts for associates, counsel, and law students, with a focus on recruiting for our Virtual Office and lateral hiring needs across the Midwest.

The Assistant will provide critical administrative and logistical support across all stages of the recruiting process, including scheduling, coordination, candidate communication, and data tracking. The role also supports seasonal recruiting efforts, including entry-level associate hiring, the Summer Clerk Program, and On-Campus Interview (OCI) coordination.

This position reports to the Midwest Manager of Attorney Recruiting within the Associate, Counsel, and Law Student Recruiting team, and will work closely with recruiting colleagues and attorneys across multiple offices.

Key Responsibilities:

General Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative support to the Midwest attorney recruiting manager and coordinator, including managing correspondence and calendars.
  • Prepare reports and respond to ad hoc data requests and surveys.
  • Coordinate meetings, calls, and logistics.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Lateral and Virtual Office Attorney Recruiting

  • Maintain candidate files and databases; ensure accurate records and status updates.
  • Coordinate logistics and scheduling for virtual and in-person candidate interviews.
  • Support the onboarding process for new attorney hires.
  • Prepare electronic evaluation packets and assist with follow-up to collect interview feedback.

Law Student Recruiting & Entry-Level Recruiting

  • Support law school outreach, including job fairs, panels, and networking events; help organize and distribute resumes for recruiting events.
  • Assist with all aspects of On-Campus Interview (OCI) logistics, including but not limited to resume packet creation, interview scheduling, and callback coordination.
  • Provide both virtual and on-site support for recruiting events as needed.
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and ensure recruiting documentation is up to date.
  • Assist with onboarding process for new attorneys.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. One or two years of experience in legal recruiting, professional services, or corporate hiring environment is preferred.
  • Communication: Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer Service: Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
  • Dependability: Follow instructions; complete tasks on time; commit to the hours necessary to complete assignments; work independently.
  • Professionalism: Approach others in a tactful manner; treat others with respect; respond well under pressure; maintain confidentiality.
  • Teamwork: Contribute to building a positive team spirit; support everyone’s efforts to succeed; collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Organization & Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize competing deadlines, and consistently maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Possess advanced PC skills and clerical proficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe.
  • Comfortable using phone systems (including voicemail and conference calling), copier, scanner, and printer.
  • Applicant Tracking Systems: Experience with ViRecruit or other applicant tracking systems preferred.
  • Initiative & Flexibility: Proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Flexibility to work overtime during peak recruiting periods.

The hourly rate range for this position is $27.88 - $30 per hour. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
