Job summary

The Los Angeles County Bar Association - LACBA is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney for a flexible, hybrid role with remote options and occasional Riverside in-person appearances. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of civil litigation experience, including defense practice in Insurance Defense, Employment, or related fields.

Responsibilities include handling matters from inception through resolution, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting research, managing discovery, and taking depositions.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience in Insurance Defense, Employment Litigation, Public Entity Defense, or other civil litigation practices is preferred.
• Strong legal writing, discovery, motion practice, and deposition experience.
• Ability to independently manage cases while collaborating with a litigation team.
• Trial experience is welcomed but not required.

A well-established California litigation firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its growing team, offering a collaborative and flexible environment handling sophisticated matters, including a strong public entity defense practice. The firm is open to attorneys with 2+ years of civil litigation experience, particularly in Insurance Defense, Employment, or other civil litigation backgrounds.

This position offers remote or hybrid work flexibility, with occasional in-person depositions and court appearances in the Riverside area for attorneys within commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive filings
• Conduct legal research and prepare high-quality written work product
• Manage written discovery, subpoenas, and document review
• Take and defend depositions
• Participate in mediations, settlement discussions, and case strategy meetings
• Work closely with partners while independently managing an active caseload
• Represent public entities and other clients in complex civil litigation matters

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position ranges from $130,000-$200,000, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and other relevant factors. In addition to base compensation, the firm offers a highly competitive performance-based bonus structure that rewards productivity, business development, and long-term client relationships.
